MedTech Brings IDEAS Summit to Regeneron
MedTech, New York’s trade association for the bio/med industry, will run the next conference in its IDEAS Summit series on Monday, June 10, 2019, from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The event, hosted by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. at its headquarters in Tarrytown, NY, will be centered around Ensuring Patient Access in a Value-Based Environment.
The purpose of the conference series is to bring together business and academic leaders across the biotechnology and medical science fields to share best practices, explore collaborative opportunities, and help deliver creative solutions to the industry’s biggest challenges.
The one-day conference will include a keynote address from Jason Helgerson, CEO of Helgerson Solutions Group. Mr. Helgerson is a recognized leader in helping companies improve health and social care outcomes while delivering care cost-effectively.
John Overton, Vice President of Sequencing and Lab Operations at the Regeneron Genetics Center, LLC, says, “At Regeneron, we are committed to the motto of ‘doing well by doing good.’ This is reflected across our business, including the Regeneron Genetics Center, which seeks to improve patient care by using genomic approaches to speed drug discovery and development.”
Dr. Overton will discuss how Regeneron is building one of the world’s most comprehensive genetics databases and how this project has the potential to revolutionize drug development in a fireside chat moderated by Mario Nacinovich, Managing Partner of AXON Communications.
Ellen Miller Sonet, the Chief Strategy and Policy Officer at CancerCare, will talk about efforts to empower patients to advocate for access to life-saving treatments.
Attendees will also hear from Sara Payne, Cannabis Team Leader & Counsel, Barclay Damon, LLP. about advancements in the use of cannabis to treat medical conditions.
In addition, the conference will feature a pitch session — Collisionsof Value — with the entrepreneurs behind Ophidion, Hememics Biotechnologies, DeepLook, Otomagnetics, and Glauconix, as well as a tech showcase and networking reception.
